SG Barockstadt is strengthening: goalkeeping talent Justin Duda is coming!
SG Barockstadt has secured a promising new signing: goalkeeper Justin Duda is moving to SG on loan from Eintracht Braunschweig. The 22-year-old will be available for one year and is motivated to draw attention to himself in the regional league. Duda, who is an impressive 1.93 meters tall, was trained in Braunschweig's youth ranks and went through all age groups there, starting with the U17. Last season, Duda was called up 17 times for the professional team, while also making ten appearances in the Oberliga Niedersachsen.
Christian Geisendörfer, the sporting director of SG Barockstadt, was very positive about the new addition after a successful trial training session. “Justin wants to prove himself and hopes for a lot of playing time,” said Geisendörfer. Currently only Timo Ulpins has a contract for the coming season, while the future of Samuel Zapico, whose contract expires on June 30th, is still unclear. Jannik Horz has already announced his move to OFC, which makes the need for a strong goalkeeper even more important.
An impressive career
Justin Duda not only has a professional contract with Eintracht Braunschweig under his belt, but can also look back on an impressive career. In July 2019 he moved to the club's youth performance center (NLZ), where he played his way up from the U17 to the U19. In the current season he also gained experience in the national league with the second team with 22 appearances. In January 2023 he took part in the winter training camp in Chiclana de la Frontera, which gave him valuable insights into professional football.
Peter Vollmann, Sports Director at Eintracht Braunschweig, praised Duda's development and the progress he has made in training. The young keeper is happy about signing a contract and sees this as an opportunity to develop further in his sport. Duda has great ambitions for the coming season and wants to prove his skills on the pitch in order to compete for the number one goal not only for SG Barockstadt, but also for his future in the professional league.
Focus on young talent centers
The development of talent in the football world is becoming increasingly important. The German Football Association (DFB) has taken a significant step in the right direction with its talent development program since the 2002/2003 season. There are currently 346 bases that act as the first level of talent development. These efforts are cemented by numerous youth performance centers. A solid education in such institutions is crucial for players like Duda on the way to a professional career. Even though some clubs, such as Rot-Weiß Oberhausen and the Würzburger Kickers, have given up their NLZ, the development of talent remains a central concern in German football, which highlights the importance of people like Justin Duda.
With this new challenge at SG Barockstadt, Justin Duda is entering a new chapter in his career journey and fans can be excited to see what the talented goalkeeper will show in the coming season.
