In the picturesque region of the Gorges du Doux the Velorail has captivated many nature enthusiasts since it opened in 2011. A very special experience is offered here on the Chemin de Fer du Vivarais railway line, which was built in 1891. This activity is ideal for families and friends who want to experience the beauty of nature up close.
The Vélorail offers a unique way to discover the Doux Valley. With space for five people, two pedalers and three passengers, fun is guaranteed for all ages. Particularly practical: When going uphill, there is no effort because an autorail pulls the Vélorails up the slope in a relaxed manner.
An unforgettable nature experience
The departure takes place from the charming Gare de Boucieu-le-Roi, where the 8-kilometer route begins. During the ride, participants can cycle through blooming orchards and enjoy breathtaking views of the surrounding villages. We return with the Vélorails, which are very suitable for this route - especially for beginners. The entire experience has already been checked and approved by the Ardèche Hermitage Tourist Office.
For all those who want to enjoy our mountains in a very special way in August, there is an exciting series of events: a sunset event on the mountain ridges will be offered from August 1st to 24th. These events not only offer a romantic view, but also the opportunity to take advantage of the “Passeports de l’été 2025”. This allows free access to a total of 27 attractions and cultural institutions in the Rhône-Alpes region.
