Escape from the police: 22-year-old races through Delmenhorst in a rental car!
There was a spectacular incident in Delmenhorst on Monday night that kept the police on their toes. A 22-year-old fled from officers in a rental car and caused a stir in the otherwise quiet city. How NDR Reportedly, a police patrol noticed the driver moving quickly behind them. Instead of stopping, the young man decided on an adventurous escape.
The driver raced through a 30 km/h zone at over 100 kilometers per hour and finally turned off to escape the police. But that didn't bring him any luck: he collided with a tree after driving through a garden fence. He sustained minor injuries and tried to escape on foot. But the police didn't let up and quickly arrested him.
Rush and risk
During the subsequent check it turned out that the 22-year-old did not have a driver's license and was possibly under the influence of drugs. This was a clear warning for the officials. The emergency services found cocaine and cannabis in the fugitive's rental car with the help of a drug detection dog. The police report states that the rental car suffered a total loss of around 40,000 euros due to the rapid drive, while the damage to the property is currently being determined.
The driver was taken to hospital with minor injuries, where a blood sample was also taken. The outcome of this investigation is still pending and the police are opening a case against him. This shows once again how risky and irresponsible such behavior can be.
