Emden celebrates: No new corona cases on October 25, 2025!

In the East Frisian city of Emden, the situation regarding the COVID-19 pandemic remains pleasingly stable. There are currently no new infections compared to the previous day, so the 7-day incidence has fallen to a remarkable 0.0 per 100,000 inhabitants. This is reported by News.de and thus increases the commitment of citizens and the progressive vaccination campaigns.

The total number of people who tested positive in Emden is now 22,723. The Emden district, with around 49,913 inhabitants, draws its strength not only from the current situation, but also from its historical significance and industrial diversity. The city is not only a major port location, but also an important university location and has a rich cultural past dating back to the year 800.

Vaccination rate and intensive care beds

At the state level, the latest data from Lower Saxony shows a 7-day incidence of 3.5 per 100,000 inhabitants, with 18 new infections and four additional deaths. Across Lower Saxony, the total number of people who tested positive is 3,933,736. What is particularly striking is that the 35 to 59 age group has the highest number of infections, with a total of 1,527,051 cases. These numbers provide insight into the progress made in combating the virus in the region.

The vaccination campaigns also appear to be bearing fruit. In Emden the vaccination rate for at least one dose is 79.90% and for a complete basic vaccination it is 77.60%. This emerges from the surveys on Corona-in-zahlen.de.

  • Gesamtzahl der COVID-19 Fälle in Emden: 22.712
  • Todesfälle an oder mit Corona: 48
  • Infektionsrate: 45,86%
  • Letalitätsrate: 0,21%
  • COVID-19 Patienten in intensivmedizinischer Behandlung: 0

Positive news also comes from the intensive care units, where no COVID-19 patients are currently being treated. This shows that hospitals still have free capacity at 58%, which is a reassuring development.

A look at the bigger picture

A total of 651 new infections were registered in Germany, resulting in a 7-day incidence of 7.4 per 100,000 inhabitants. This makes it clear that the situation in Emden is quite favorable compared to the national average.

Vaccinations could be the key to containing further waves. With a total of 76.3% basic immunizations in Germany and a high number of vaccine doses administered, progress in dealing with the pandemic is also evident here.

Emden, as a historic trading town and an important middle center, has also made a name for itself as a cultural city in recent years, for example through the Johannes a Lasco library and the art gallery, which was donated by Henri Nannen. This tradition of learning and art is maintained even in difficult times.

While the city maintains its cultural roots, the health of its citizens remains its top priority at this time. It remains to be seen how the pandemic situation will develop in the coming weeks, but many are optimistic that the situation will remain stable.
