Charity golf tournament in Gifhorn: swinging for children in need!
Golf enthusiasts will celebrate a special occasion on Sunday, July 6th, at the Gifhorn Golf Club. A charity golf tournament is taking place here for the benefit of the German Cancer Aid and the German Children's Cancer Aid Foundation. Over 130 golf clubs in Germany are taking part in this great event, which not only stands for a good cause, but also offers golfers the opportunity to qualify for the regional and national finals. The federal finals will be held on October 4th at the Rothenburg-Schönbronn Golf Park WAZ Online reported.
The proceeds from the tournament flow directly into important projects of the German Children's Cancer Aid. This includes the establishment and further development of children's cancer centers, research into new therapeutic approaches and the establishment of parental homes to offer affected families accommodation near clinics. With more than 7,000 participants, it is one of the most important golf tournament series in Germany, which has existed since 1981 and has raised immense sums every year for the fight against cancer.
Further information about participation
Participating golfers have the chance not only to compete in sports, but also to actively contribute to the fight against childhood cancer. The deadline to register for participation is June 30th and project-related information is available below Children's Cancer Aid Mainz to find. The general conditions are simple, and members of a club affiliated with the German Golf Association (DGV) are warmly invited to take part.
With an entry fee of 75 euros, every golfer should be prepared to make a minimum donation of 200 euros to support the aid projects. The tournaments are held according to the rules of the DGV and are designed for amateurs, which makes them accessible to a wide audience. The opportunity to qualify for the regional finals in Miltenberg-Erftal, Schloß Haag and Gifhorn makes the tournament even more exciting.
An integral part of golf
This year the nationwide golf competitions will take place from March 29th and the response has been overwhelming. Around 340,000 euros were collected in 2024 through the tournament series alone, entirely in the spirit of promoting care structures, research and general information work to combat cancer, such as Press portal explained. DekaBank is the general sponsor of the series and provides valuable prizes.
These charity tournaments not only promote sport, but also help improve the chances of survival for children with cancer. As the 2025 golf season continues to unfold, a commitment to research and care remains a key concern for all involved. Golf for a good cause - there is no better reason for every round!
