support for young people in the region
The importance of this youth fair lies not only in networking, but also in the visualization of the diverse offers for young people in the district. According to the Evangelical Youth in the Gifhorn church district, which is one of the largest youth associations in the region, the focus is on fresh ideas and a living offer. Her slogan "heart - hand - mind" illustrates how important it is to involve young people in the design of their free time. The association offers a wide range of actions, projects and training, as on church-gifhorn.de
Youth work in Gifhorn also includes special programs for children and adolescents who are faced with special challenges. In accordance with the requirements of § 11 SGB VIII, child and youth work should offer young people support in order to promote their self-determination and social responsibility. The diversity of the offers should meet the interests of the young people and enable them to participate so that they can actively participate in their development, such as "https://www.kinder-jugendhilfe.info/ufgangen-und-krtungenfelder/foerderung-unstlung/kinder-und- youth work" Target = "_ blank"> Kinder-Jugendhilfe.info described.
A look at the challenges
The past few years have also left their mark on child and youth work. After the challenging times through Corona pandemic, many projects have lost numbers of participants. In 2019, for example, there were still 156,700 publicly funded offers for 8.6 million young people, whereas only 106,700 offers were available in 2021. This corresponds to a decline of 32%, which impressively shows the diversity and availability of leisure activities for the younger generation.
The more important is initiatives such as the upcoming youth fair in Gifhorn, which aims to give young people the opportunity to network, have fun and to be able to actively participate in their social environment. It remains to be seen how lively participation will be and which creative ideas the youngsters bring.
