Iserlohn Kangaroos shine at the mini tournament in Göttingen!

At the 38th BG 74 Göttingen mini-tournament, the Iserlohn Kangaroos were able to experience a remarkable weekend and prove themselves in the warm atmosphere of the high-speed basketball game. How Lokalkompass.de reported, the U10 and U12 teams competed and consistently achieved convincing results.

The U10 team, consisting of talented players born in 2015 and 2016, showed an impressive performance. In the preliminary round they were able to achieve their first group win against Halle, followed by a narrow defeat against SCW Göttingen. They then demonstrated their skills in the quarter-finals against TuS Bothfeld and won against BG 74 Göttingen in the semi-finals. The final was an exciting duel against ACT Kassel, where the Iserlohn team were able to celebrate victory with a gap of six points despite a tense situation. The reward for the effort was a trophy, medals and a certificate for each player.

Successful U12 and large field of participants

The U12 team from Iserlohn, which proved to be extremely competitive, took second place. In their first game they showed no mercy against ASC 46 Göttingen and inflicted a clear defeat of 57:15, although an important player, Jasper, was injured and could no longer play. Things continued impressively with a clear victory over the WILD DUCKS Havelland (69:18), followed by a semi-final against TuS Neukölln 1865, which the Iserlohn team won 37:26. The final duel against Alba Berlin II was extremely exciting, with Iserlohn still triumphing after falling behind (49:48). Unfortunately it wasn't enough to win the last game against SC Rist Wedel, but second place overall was the reward for their efforts.

Overall, players, coaches and parents viewed the tournament as a complete success. The organization was praised and the fair atmosphere as well as the friendly cooperation between the teams contributed significantly to a pleasant experience. With almost 400 games in 13 sports halls, the mini-tournament is the largest basketball tournament in Europe up to the U12 age group, where around 1,500 talents from 147 teams met basketball-bund.de is to be read.
