This is part of the Hospital Care Improvement Act (KHVVG), which was passed on December 5, 2024 and aims to increase the quality of treatment and increase the efficiency of care.

The transformation fund will have a total volume of up to 50 billion euros from 2026 to 2035. Of this, 25 billion euros come from the health fund's liquidity reserve.
