Goslar app launched: All information in one hand!
The city of Goslar is taking a big step into the digital future with its new app. After a successful test phase, the Goslar app has now been officially launched. Holger Dettmer, who is responsible for IT and digitalization at the city, is enthusiastic about the new application, which allows citizens to access numerous digital services. The app is free Google Play Store and in Apple App Store available and promises an “all-in-one app” solution to citizens’ concerns.
What can users expect now? The Goslar app not only offers a customizable dashboard, but also an extensive business directory with information about clubs and companies. Important messages can also be received using the shout function. As regionalheute.de reports, citizens can give their opinions on urban issues via integrated surveys.
Interactive services and current information
The app also has useful functions, such as displaying current fuel prices in the Goslar district and the filling levels of the dams. Anyone who regularly visits the weekly market can now check on a daily basis whether their favorite stall is there. Damage in the city area can also be reported easily using a reporting function with a photo.
Another highlight of the app is the AI-based council information, which answers questions about political issues around the clock. For citizens interested in local events, there is also news from the police and fire departments. With the “Eat delicious!” function Menus from local restaurants can be accessed, and the “Goslar Streets” project offers exciting historical information and pictures about the street names in the city.
The app is financially supported by the federal program “Sustainable City Centers and Centers” (ZIZ), which aims to make cities smarter. According to the Smart City Charter, digital technologies should be available that serve citizens and improve municipal communication.
A dynamic project
The development of the Goslar app is viewed as a dynamic project that should never be viewed as “finished”. Dettmer's team has already announced that the app will be continuously developed. Users are warmly invited to actively participate in the development process. Feedback can be given directly via the app or in person in the MachMit!Haus, as machmit.goslar.de describes.
Particularly interesting is the open workshop “Coding4Goslar”, which takes place every Wednesday from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. and offers all developers and interested parties the opportunity to work together on new ideas and try them out. The app has already produced practical features such as an AI prototype that displays local policy templates, as well as other innovative ideas from citizens.
With all of these functions, the Goslar app clearly shows that the city is interested in the wishes of its citizens. It will be exciting to see how the app develops and what new ideas will be integrated in the future. The future of the digital city is in the works, and residents have the opportunity to actively shape it.
