The time will soon come in Lower Saxony: the first Christmas markets will open at the end of November and invite you to get in the festive mood for the Advent season. A special highlight is the Christmas market in Goslar, which was awarded the “Excellent European Christmas Market” quality seal by the EECMA.
In the old town of Goslar, visitors can expect around 70 stalls as well as a lovingly designed Christmas forest with 60 coniferous trees. The market will be open daily from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. from November 26th to December 30th, 2025, and the Christmas forest atmosphere will even last until 10 p.m. A look at the different opening times shows:

Diversity in Lüneburg
The Lüneburg Christmas market also has a diverse offering. Handicrafts are sold in front of the historic town hall, ranging from wooden jewelry to Lüneburg salt stone lamps. Musical performances from trumpeters in the market square create a festive atmosphere, while children can look forward to a carousel and a candle workshop.
