Wunstorf, Deutschland - A special sporting spectacle of a special kind took place on Sunday, June 15, 2025, on the Steinhuder Meer. The 2. Steinhuder Meer Triathlon attracted around 1,700 sports -loving participants who plunged on two distances of swimming, cycling and running.

The event stretched across the picturesque places Wunstorf and Steinhude. With over 500 athletes who faced the challenging middle distance, and another 1,200 that ran on the sprint route, the event was a real highlight of the region. Christian Haupt, local hero and four -time Ironman age group world champion, who took first place on the middle distance, was particularly praised. Timo Warnecke and Sascha Sokolowski followed him in places two and three.
