Föhrste triumphs: 3-0 in the district cup final against Hildesheim!
The TSV Föhrste footballers have once again shown that they are a force in the district cup. On June 15, 2025, they won the final in Elze with a convincing 3-0 win against DJK Blau-Weiß Hildesheim II. All three goals were scored by Johanna Schößler, who caused the net to fidget in the 22nd, 30th and 62nd minutes. This strong performance is no coincidence: Schößler normally plays for Jahn Calden in the Regionalliga Süd and had secured a second game right at TSV Föhrste for personal reasons. This secured the necessary reinforcement for the ladies from Föhrste, who can be really happy about this cup victory.
Despite the Hildesheim team's efforts to find their way into the game, they were unable to pose a real goal threat. Coach Bjan Pattke von Föhrste was positive about the way the season went and yesterday's final. Among the 200 spectators was a player from Hildesheim who, due to the high temperatures, cooled herself down with a bucket of water.
Special honors and support for young talent
Support for the junior teams is also an important topic. The entrance fee from spectators goes to SSV Elze to support these teams. Referee Detlef Fischer and assistants Marie Winnefeld and Anastasija Bykanov received commemorative certificates for their achievements. At the award ceremony, Alicia Hoffmann was presented with the winner's trophy, and Sonja Bukowski, the relay leader, ended her career.
The local newspaper Leinetal24 highlights that DJK Hildesheim could not compete with their best line-up, which had a significant impact on the result. However, coach Pattke emphasized that his team deserved the win and the support from the fans was great. Women's football has recently become increasingly important in Hildesheim, as the statistics show: Over 75% of women surveyed in Germany show a strong interest in football, which further fuels enthusiasm for women's football.
With an eye on the challenges ahead and the UEFA Women's EURO 2025, which takes place in Switzerland in July, the German women's football team also has high ambitions. They are currently in third place in the world rankings and are competing against teams like Denmark and Sweden in the preliminary round. Women's football is on the rise, and with around 100,000 active players in Germany, interest and support continue to grow.
TSV Föhrste's cup victory is a further step towards making women's football even more visible and successful. You can look forward to the next games!
