Helios GRIZZLYS strengthen squad with Argentine star Iñaki Ramos

The Helios GRIZZLYS Giesen squad for the upcoming 2025/26 volleyball season is slowly taking shape. The GRIZZLYS have now completed their squad with the signing of 20-year-old Argentine diagonal attacker Iñaki Ramos. Ramos not only brings international experience, but also a great enthusiasm for the game, which will hopefully inspire his teammates. The young player is considered technically adept and is already longing for his first adventure in the German Bundesliga, having previously attracted attention as a top performer in his home country of Argentina. His involvement with the Argentine national team, where he took part in the Copa America, among other things, deserves special mention. At the end of August he will also compete at the U21 World Championships in Jiangmen, China, before joining the GRIZZLYS team training at the beginning of September. GRIZZLYS head coach Itamar Stein sees great potential in Ramos and is convinced that he can develop well, which the fans will certainly be happy to hear.

But the new signings don't end with Ramos. The squad now includes some new additions such as Yannik Ahr, Jakob Günthör, Niklas Breilin, Miguel Sinfrónio, Nicholas Slight, JT Hatch and Ethan Champlin. along with the extended contracts of Mark Rura, Lars Migge, Arash Dosanjh and Mateusz Borkowski. On the departure side, the GRIZZLYS unfortunately have to let go of two key players, Michiel Ahyi and Dilja Ivanov, while Noah Baxpöhler, Hauke Wagner and Jori Mantha have announced the end of their careers. So it will be exciting to see how the newly formed squad performs in the Bundesliga.

A tough fight for the points

In the current season, the Helios GRIZZLYS are in the middle of the fight for the top positions. In the next game on January 27th, which will take place in the SPACETECH ARENA in Friedrichshafen, the Gieseners will face a strong team that is currently in second place in the table. The game is already sold out, which speaks to the excellent support from the fan base. Head coach Mark Lebedev from Friedrichshafen proved to be confident and believes in the quality of his team. After a 3-0 defeat against Berlin Recycling Volleys, he worked intensively on the style of play and mentality to ensure that his team can perform at its best.

The GRIZZLYS also showed strong performances, especially in the last game against the champions from Berlin, which they won. Diagonal attacker Mich Ahyi scored 24 points in the last match and is making a decisive contribution to the team's success. Although Friedrichshafen will certainly need the support of its own fans in the hall, the GRIZZLYS won the last duel in the first half of the season and will try to continue this positive trend.

The coming challenges will be exciting! All eyes are on the Gieseners, who are not resting on their laurels but want to start the second half of the season with a breath of fresh air and motivation.
