Adventure Sunday in Lüneburg: fire brigade, action and shopping fun!

Today, November 2nd, 2025, a very special day is being celebrated in downtown Lüneburg: The Adventure Sunday, which has the motto “Helpers,” attracts numerous visitors to popular places such as the Sande and the market square. This event is organized by various organizations, including the fire department, the police and the Bundeswehr. It is an excellent opportunity to take a look behind the scenes at the important work of these services and to express the appreciation that these helpers deserve.

There are many exciting offers to discover for the whole family on this day. The fire department brings along impressive vehicles that will amaze both children and adults. There are also activities and insights into the work of the aid organizations that will delight young and old. As a special treat, the Bundeswehr field kitchen will offer pea soup - a real treat for anyone who wants something to fortify them after a long stroll.

Shopping spree and church service

And that's not all: Adventure Sunday also falls on a shopping Sunday. The shops in Lüneburg invite you to shop from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and offer all sorts of surprises and colorful promotions. An ideal opportunity to stroll through the streets while the shops open their doors wide and invite people to discover their treasures.

The day begins with an ecumenical blue light service at 11 a.m. in St. Johannis Church. Here the community and the helpers gather to celebrate the motto “Respect for those who help” and to thank those who work every day for the well-being of others.

Children are not left out

There are numerous activities for younger guests to take part in. During the craft fun, the children can, among other things, design firemen and build fire engines out of paper. Such hands-on activities are not only educational, but are also a lot of fun and promote the creativity of the little ones.

Experience Sunday promises to be a complete success and offers all generations a reason to gather, celebrate and recognize the important achievements of our helpers. A day made for a visit to the charming city center of Lüneburg, where the focus is on fun, education and community.
