Lüneburg remains undefeated: Volleyball team triumphs over Herrsching!

SVG Lüneburg shows once again why it is considered the undisputed top of volleyball in Northern Germany. On December 7th, 2025, the SVG volleyball players clearly defeated the WWK Volleys Herrsching 3-1 and thus remained undefeated in the LKH Arena this season. After an exciting 103 minutes on the court, it was a service error by Jannik Sambale that ended the match for the Herrschinger team.

The game started promisingly for Herrsching, who won the first set 25:22. Simon Gallas was the man of the set, not only scoring seven attack points but also two block points. But the joy didn't last long. The Lüneburgers quickly found their way back into the game and won the second set 25:22. Coach Bob Ranner subsequently criticized the many mistakes in attack and his team's lack of adaptability in the block. Despite winning the set, the Herrschinger team was not completely satisfied as they were unable to match the performance of the first set.

An emotional challenge

Back to the game against Herrsching: Lüneburg won the third set 25:19, with Daniel Gruvaeus playing a crucial role in the success. In the fourth set, however, the Herrschinger team had to lose touch early on, which Ranner couldn't prevent despite his emotional speeches. The team was disappointed by the many missed opportunities and the inability to learn from their mistakes.

With this victory, SVG Lüneburg sets another mark in the Bundesliga. Their impressive record with nine wins and an undisputed place at the top means that the volleyball city of Lüneburg continues to be very popular.
