Pride 2025 in Lüneburg: Never be quiet again! for equality!

Today, July 4, 2025, the city of Lüneburg will be the scene of an important demonstration. Under the motto “Never be quiet again – together we are louder” everyone is warmly invited to actively support the rights and visibility of queer people. At 4:00 p.m. the starting signal will be fired at Clamartpark, from where the demo procession will move towards the Kurpark. From 5:30 p.m., participants can look forward to a varied stage program with live music, speeches and information stands that not only entertain, but also inform and motivate.

The event is launched by the organizing team as a strong expression against the increasing hostile mood towards queer people. Unfortunately, this problem is not unknown in Lüneburg, where anti-queer violence was recorded last year. The organizers emphasize that it is all the more important to speak up loudly for equality and diversity. In recent years, the Pride movement has found a permanent place here. A pride demonstration took place in 2022 and 2023, which led from the Liebesgrund to the Kurpark with around 750 participants in 2023 and ended with a queer initiative market.

Inclusivity and accessibility

The accessibility aspect of the event is particularly worth highlighting. A sign language interpreter will be present at the stage program, and an accessible bus from Irro Reisen will be provided in the demonstration train for people with reduced mobility. This should give everyone the opportunity to take part in this important event and have their voice heard.

The Pride event also receives support from the Federal Ministry of Education, Family, Seniors, Women and Youth as part of the “Living Democracy!” program, as well as from the Hanseatic City of Lüneburg and its equal opportunities officer. This collected energy and support shows that the city stands behind a diverse and solidarity-based society and invites everyone to get involved and set an example for equality.

Traffic and safety information

The city of Lüneburg points out possible traffic restrictions, especially from the afternoon hours onwards, as some areas of the city center could be temporarily closed. This particularly affects Rote Straße and Am Sande, where local public transport may be affected. The police are on site and will regulate traffic at designated points. Please plan your journey accordingly and take the opportunity to enjoy the happy and combative atmosphere of Pride Day.

Next year at the latest, everyone who is there will have the opportunity to work together for a colorful and fair society at the Pride Weeks in June 2024. The Pride March is planned for June 21, 2024, starting at 3 p.m. on the Lüneburg market square and promises to be another highlight.

With this in mind: Let's be loud together and show a strong community that lives diversity and creates space for everyone! Lüne blog and Lüneburg Current report up-to-date and comprehensive information about the event.
