VSK Osterholz-Scharmbeck celebrates impressive promotion to the state league!

There is reason to be happy in Osterholz-Scharmbeck! The VSK has done it: After ten years in the lower leagues, the club was promoted from the Lüneburg district league to the state league. This was celebrated on June 17, 2025 with a clear 6-1 home win against TSV St. Jürgen. The meeting between the two teams was a hotly anticipated top game and the VSK was in top form.

From the start, the VSK dominated the game and hardly gave the guests from St. Jürgen a chance. Jonah Meinert opened the scoring in the 8th minute. After a corner from Tom Alberts, he sensitively headed the ball into the net. Justus Nordenholz made it 2-0 in the 12th minute with a brilliant pass from Luka Hannuß. But TSV Jürgen reduced the score to 2-1 shortly before half-time thanks to a penalty kick from Levin Hoffmann.

A brilliant performance

After the break, the VSK didn't let anything go wrong. With further goals from Meinert, Ellmers and Nordenholz, the team quickly made it 5:1. Dennis Heim finished off the game with a spectacular volley in the 80th minute. The game ended with an impressive 6:1 and not only secured VSK victory, but also promotion to the national league.

Thanks to a strong season, which ended with 66 points out of 81 possible points, the team secured the championship title in the district league. In addition, the VSK had the best offense with 76 goals scored and was the measure of all things defensively with only 18 goals conceded. Their only defeat of the season was against FC Verden 04 II.

The future path

The Football and Athletics Association of Westphalia (FLVW) will provide information about what will happen next. The clubs have to prepare for the new season, which includes organizational tasks such as changing clubs and registering players. Next year, the teams will have an exciting challenge waiting for them in the national league, which will feature many new encounters and possibly new rivalries. The FLVW also offers support in the form of implementing regulations and youth regulations to guarantee smooth gaming operations.

The future seems secure for the young talents in the VSK, and the anticipation for the next season is growing. The home fans can be proud of their team's performance, which impressed them with an outstanding season and ultimately made it into the national league.
