Festival Literature am Dom: Author's notification magic in Altenberg!
Altenberg, Deutschland - The literature festival "Literature am Dom" recently caused a pulsating atmosphere in Altenberg for four days. Organized by a dedicated support association under the direction of the curators Karin Graf and Denis Scheck, the festival pulled numerous well -known authors and authors to the idyllic surroundings at the gates of Cologne. Since its premiere in 2022, in which literature greats such as the Nobel Laureate Laurent Herta Müller were guests, the event has established itself as a meeting point for writers and those interested in literature.
Despite the high quality of the readings, the national popularity of the festival remains somewhat limited. "Altenberg, however, has nothing to do with province", as apt in a comment from ksta.de . The special charm of the festival is near authors and audiences who can interact with each other in a casual atmosphere - for example in the herb garden. Small details, such as the subjects provided, in order to feed some air in the heat, contribute to the pleasant mood.
readings and awards
This year well -known authors such as Dincer Gücyeter, who was able to dust two awards with his debut novel "Our Tough". In 2023, the author and publisher from Nettetal received the Prize of the Leipzig Book Fair and the Peter Huchel Prize for his work "My Prince, I am the Ghetto" in 2022. Even if Jürgen Becker had to cancel for health reasons, his work by Joachim Sartorius and Sabine Küchler was recognized, who presented poems from his new volume "Added time".
Gücyeter read from his excellent books and gave interesting insights into his childhood and the beginnings of his writer career. He only started writing at the age of 30 and soon founded the ELIF publishing house to offer other authors a platform for their poems. As he reports himself, he initially had difficulty making his publisher known, but has now developed a respectable name.
The kick -off of the festival formed a lively reading by Angela Steidele, which read out of her novel "Enlightenment. A novel". Their work focuses on the Leipzig of the 18th century and delighted the audience with entertaining passages.
unique festival design
"Literature on the Cathedral" manages to bring readers and writers into a direct exchange, which is often neglected in many major festivals. In contrast to other literary shows, such as the internationally renowned Literature Festival in Berlin , or the Göttingen Literature autumn, Altenberg enjoys an intimate framework that makes the program special.
The event that ended on June 18 has impressively demonstrated that literature is not only measured in large names, but also the ability to bring people together and to exchange ideas. In times when literature often goes down, the event remains a real ray of hope and advertising for the literature in general
