Salzgitter share: Volatility in the steel market is causing unrest!
What's happening in the steel market? Salzgitter AG has experienced remarkable volatility in its shares in recent weeks. The price is currently EUR 28.04 and has therefore decreased by 0.3 percent. On October 9, 2025, the share temporarily reached a high of EUR 28.10. Nevertheless, the uncertainties in the global market are clearly noticeable and numerous factors impact price developments. A look at the 52-week high of EUR 34.78 shows that the share still has significant room for improvement, while it has experienced a decline of over 51 percent compared to its 52-week low of EUR 13.66.
The latest quarterly figures are not exactly a reason to be happy either. In the last quarter, Salzgitter recorded a decline in sales of 8.97 percent compared to the previous year and came to EUR 2.34 billion. The loss of EUR -1.02 per share and the expected EUR -1.510 for the entire year 2025 also suggest challenges. Nevertheless, a moderate increase in the dividend to EUR 0.222 per share is forecast for 2025. These strategic adjustments are necessary in order to remain competitive in the long term in the highly emotional steel market, which is influenced by geopolitical factors, as it-boltwise reports.
Successes at the Blechexpo
Another highlight was the visit of an NDR team to Verkehrsbetriebe Peine-Salzgitter GmbH, where the switch from diesel to hydrogen drive was documented. This environmentally friendly initiative is part of Salzgitter AG's efforts to operate more sustainably and reduce its ecological footprint. A new telescopic mast platform 45 (TMB 45) was also put into operation for the plant fire department, which further improves safety standards.
