Spectacular jewel robbery in the Louvre: Böcker reacts humorously!
On October 19, 2025, a spectacular robbery at the Louvre in Paris caused excitement and horror. Shortly after the museum opened, the perpetrators broke in through a window on the Seine side and stole valuable pieces of jewelry from Napoleon's famous collection in just four minutes. Among them was Empress Eugénie's diamond-studded crown, which was later found near the museum. French Culture Minister Rachida Dati praised the thieves' professional, non-violent methods, pointing out that they used a freight elevator left behind by construction workers over the weekend. A serious blow to the security of art venues in France!
But other museums have not been spared from robberies in the past. How SWR reported, for example, there was a theft in the “Green Vault” in Dresden in 2019, in which royal jewels worth over 100 million euros were stolen. Historical robbery cases such as the theft of the “Mona Lisa” in 1911 show that museums are often the target of criminals.
Marketing with a wink
The situation sheds an interesting light on the Böcker company from Werne, whose truck with a lifting platform was used to give the perpetrators access to the Louvre. But don't worry - the company has nothing to do with the crime. To ease the situation, Böcker did something unusual: one day after the robbery, the marketing department published a humorous post on Facebook. In this post, which showed a crime scene photo, it said: "When things have to go quickly again. The Böcker Agilo transports your treasures weighing up to 400 kg at 42 m/min - whisper-quiet thanks to the 230 V electric motor." This led to mixed reactions: while many praised the creative marketing strategies, there were also critical voices who found the post to be in poor taste, especially given the trauma the robbery caused in France.
Leonie Sauerland from the marketing department joked that the idea of using current world events for advertising had been discussed for a long time. Böcker's social media team reacted to the international news with a good dose of humor.
Art and crime
The Louvre robbery is just another example of the growing number of spectacular robberies of works of art and jewels. Loud AZ Museums have always been a lucrative target for thieves. A look into the past shows numerous cases in which priceless treasures were stolen from the hands of criminals, such as the problems that museums face today. But as history shows, it is not just the works of art that are at risk, but also the marketing strategies of companies that can unintentionally become involved in such incidents.
In North Rhine-Westphalia, on the other hand, there is much happier news: a person won the big ticket by playing the lottery - without any criminal activity. This is probably better news these days for everyone who is interested in security and happiness in everyday life.
