SV Wilhelmshaven celebrates: 2 test match wins in the training camp in Dortmund!

SV Wilhelmshaven is impressive in the training camp in Dortmund. During their stay the team refined their preparations for the new season with two notable friendly wins. In the first duel against the Westphalian Oberliga team Wattenscheid 09, the team achieved a spectacular turnaround: After a 0-2 deficit, SVW turned the game around and ultimately won 3-2. Despite a misunderstood interaction between goalkeeper Ajdin Herovic and defender Alex Chiarodia, which caused the first goal, the team fought for victory. Benny Boungou scored shortly before half-time, followed by further goals from Tim Rister and Yesua Motango in the second half, which completed the dominant performance. Wattenscheid were also unlucky as they hit the post or crossbar four times, which made the close decision even more exciting. Zidane Mwinyi was new to the squad, while Maurice Bank was missing due to a thigh problem, as NWZonline reports.

In the second test, SV Wilhelmshaven met the regional league team DJK Hordel and celebrated a clear 7:4 victory. In this encounter, Tim Rister was particularly noticeable by scoring three goals. Efkan Erdogan, Valeriu Gaiu, Conor Gnerlich and Anthony Erhahon also got on the scoresheet. Coach David Jahdadic was happy about the high number of goals, but noted that the defensive stability was not yet optimal and the team needs to work on the number of goals conceded. This shows that SVW still has potential both offensively and defensively, which should be further developed in the coming training sessions.

Entering the preparation phase

The test matches in Dortmund are part of an intensive preparation phase that is intended to prepare the players for the challenges ahead. The team had previously impressed with a clear 10-0 win against TuS Bövinghausen, in which the scoring sequence stretched from Boungou to Kojić to Hazimi and Catic. A 4-1 win against Mülheimer FC was also a must, with Ervin Catic and Hazimi scoring the decisive goals. Unfortunately, the outcome wasn't all positive, as a 2:4 defeat against Westfalia Herne made the start of the training camp games more compact. FuPa emphasizes that the SVW is now entering the final phase of preparation.

It therefore remains to be seen whether SV Wilhelmshaven can build on the good performances in the test phase in the league. The competition never sleeps, and the results from the past games could be decisive for the upcoming start of the season. It will be exciting to see how the young team, reinforced by new additions, will measure up to the challenges that the new season brings with it. Fans and those responsible are optimistic that SVW will continue to show its class in the future and achieve its goals.
