SC Borgfeld loses 0:8 in Wolfsburg – coach speaks of crisis!

What a game day for the C-Juniors of SC Borgfeld! On November 16, 2025, they were beaten 8-0 by VfL Wolfsburg in the North Regional Football League. Such a clear defeat is significant for coach Jan-Moritz Höler: “That was a three-class difference,” said the coach, who sums up the differences in performance. This statement shows how far the team is currently from the upper echelons of the league.

The game started at a rapid pace, with Luc Tarnecki scoring the first goal for Wolfsburg in the 9th minute. Just four minutes later, in the 13th minute, another goal followed from Romeo Lichtenthal, who wonderfully converted a free-kick cross. SC Borgfeld initially operated in a defensive 5-3-2 system, but Wolfsburg's pressure was simply too strong in the first half.

Unsustainable first half

With another goal from Leandro Krüger in the 14th minute, things continued to go downhill for the Borgfelder team. In the 17th minute, Ghassan Ouled Amor increased the score to 4-0 with a penalty kick, before making it 5-0 a short time later in the 30th minute. SC Borgfeld seemed to have to give up the game completely at this stage - they were unable to record a single shot on goal during the entire first half.

In the second round there wasn't enough to turn things around. The Wolfsburg player Ben Wegner initially increased the score to 6-0 in the 43rd minute and immediately added the seventh goal in the 48th minute. The last goal for the hosts was scored again by Ghassan Ouled Amor in the 54th minute, which made the final score 8-0. After the break, regular goalkeeper Denis Flekacs returned to the goal for Borgfeld, but there was nothing to change from this perspective either.

League overview

The C-Junior Regional League North, in which SC Borgfeld is currently located, is the highest league in northern German C-junior football and covers the federal states of Lower Saxony, Bremen, Hamburg and Schleswig-Holstein. There are currently 14 teams active in this league. At the end of the season, the last four teams have to go to the lower leagues, which poses a serious danger for SC Borgfeld if their performance does not improve quickly. This league was introduced in 2004 and is managed by the North German Football Association, which continually makes adjustments to keep the competition exciting.

The game takes place under the eyes of the referee - in this case Florian Eine FM, who should oversee the game in an orderly manner. The next game remains a big challenge for Borgfeld and they urgently need to come up with a plan to free themselves from the bottom of the table.
