Students as entrepreneurs: Win the creative ideas challenge in Wolfsburg!
On June 14, 2025, the winning team of this year was announced in the heart of Wolfsburg promotion school chosen. Over 300 motivated students from the Braunschweig-Wolfsburg region developed their best ideas in a total of 90 teams. They presented their entrepreneurial spirit efforts in Coding School 42 to a jury of experts.
The “Die Denkfabrik” team from BBS Goslar-Bassgeige/Seesen secured first place with a podcast app on women’s issues. They are followed by “The V” team from the Otto Bennemann School in Braunschweig and the “Next Vision” team, also from BBS Goslar-Bassgeige/Seesen, who inherited second and third place. The jury, which consisted of well-known personalities such as Tina Hasper-Vandrey from Volkswagen AG and Dr. Sascha Hemmen from the city of Wolfsburg chose the best ideas.
Promoting entrepreneurial thinking
The promotion school, which took place in its 21st edition this year, is an educational program that has existed since 2004 and has now attracted around 9,000 students from 46 schools. The aim of the program is to provide young people with knowledge about business structures, customer relationships and market analysis. In addition, creative working methods and management methods are taught under the guidance of experienced teachers. Coaches of the Wolfsburg AG accompany the participants throughout the entire idea process.
In the meantime, many promising models have been developed in the promotion school. Last year, Team Melan was honored by BBS 1 Osterode for their innovative wrapping paper, which also serves as a carrier for seeds. The AI-supported learning platform from Team AvenirX (BBS 2 Wolfsburg) also took second place, while the team Die Wissengemeinschaft (BBS Goslar-Bassgeige/Seesen) took third place with a flexible gaming controller.
Creativity and innovative spirit
For students in grades 9 to 13, the promotion school offers an excellent platform to gain practical knowledge and promote entrepreneurial thinking. Every year on September 1st, the program's creative minds begin developing their ideas in the business plan phase, followed by a simulation game in which they can simulate their business strategies. This practical training enables students to optimally prepare for the challenges of business life.
The number of ideas submitted is constantly growing. In 2024 there were 99 ideas developed by 340 participants, and almost 2,600 project ideas have now been put into school. These figures illustrate how successful the promotion school is in the region and how it promotes entrepreneurial thinking among young people. Kudos to the teachers who, on a voluntary basis, contribute to the successful implementation of the program.
The future seems promising for the participants of the promotion school. With a strong network and a creative approach, they not only develop innovative solutions, but also prepare themselves for life's challenges.
