Construction site chaos in Schleswig-Holstein: These streets are now closed!
What is happening in Schleswig-Holstein? There is currently a comprehensive overview of construction sites and road closures in the state. Many road users are faced with changes on the extensive road network totaling 9,874.557 kilometers, as numerous motorways and federal highways are affected. This information can be found at kn-online.de.
There will be some restrictions, particularly on the A1, until the end of 2025. Traffic reallocations and construction work are underway between Eutin and Scharbeutz. The indications indicate that traffic on the Lübeck direction is being diverted - one lane remains in the direction of Lübeck, while two lanes are available in the direction of Fehmarn. Extensive work will also take place at the Bargteheide motorway junction until December 2025, which will mean that an overtaking lane will be closed. In addition, traffic must be rerouted between Sereetz and Pansdorf, although the Ratekau junction to the south remains accessible again.
More construction sites and closures
Renovation work is underway on the A7 and will last until November 10, 2025. Restrictions are to be expected between Hamburg-Schnelsen Nord and Henstedt-Ulzburg. The Quickborn junction will be closed to on- and off-ramps from November 7th to 10th. The situation is similar on the A21, where both sides of the road between Leezen and Bad Oldesloe-Nord will be replaced by December 2026. However, one lane in each direction remains usable.
The A23 must also be patient due to the complete closure of the Heide-West junction until November 28th. But other roads will also be affected, such as the Rendsburg Canal Tunnel on the B77, which will be temporarily closed on November 5th and 6th. And from the B200 onwards you can also report on construction sites, with bridge work in Flensburg scheduled until November 7th, 2025. Construction work is also being carried out on numerous state and district roads, which will severely impact driving conditions until December.
Amazon operations in the region
But it's not just the road construction work that's causing a stir in Schleswig-Holstein. The online giant Amazon also relies on the region. The company's departments are critical to its mission to be the most customer-centric company in the world. Amazon Operations is about much more than just packing and delivering packages. Measures are carried out here around the clock to ensure that delivery obligations are met. It's looking for engineers to work on the latest technology in robotics and AI, as well as managers to lead teams responsible for fulfilling billions of packages.
Career opportunities at Amazon are diverse - from technicians who maintain facilities and equipment to security specialists who ensure the safety of employees. The company offers its employees development opportunities and access to a wide range of benefits from day one. Amazon is thereby creating a platform for people who want to advance in their careers or are looking for a new challenge, as amazon.jobs explains.
Schleswig-Holstein is therefore facing a variety of changes – both in road traffic and in the labor market. The coming weeks promise many more developments.
