Star Run in Seester: Together for terminally ill children!
This year's event will take place on Sunday, June 29th Star walk in Seester instead of. This charity run supports terminally ill children and young people and their families Children’s Hospice Sternenbrücke. Under the patronage of Doris Kunstmann, the event will be a complete success, regardless of the weather!
The Star Run is aimed at everyone who likes to be active and wants to do good at the same time. This year participants can compete in various disciplines such as running, walking and Nordic walking. Course lengths vary from 3 km to 10 km, and even the smallest athletes can take part on the Bambini course.
Event details
The event begins in the morning with the start of the Bambinis at 9:00 a.m., followed by a runners' service in St. Johannes Church at 9:30 a.m. The further launches are planned as follows:
- 10:30 Uhr: Start 10-km-Läufer
- 10:35 Uhr: Start 5-km-Läufer
- 10:40 Uhr: Start 3-km-Läufer, Walker, Nordic Walker und Menschen mit Handicap (1-km-Strecke)
Registration is possible until June 22nd at 6 p.m., with an entry fee of between 8 and 14 euros to be paid. In addition to food along the route, participants will have access to various snacks and drinks in the finish area, including water, fruit and grilled sausage. Medals will be distributed to all Bambini finishers, and the best finishers on the various running routes have the chance to win non-cash prizes.
Solidarity and support
So far, the star run has already collected almost 60,000 euros in donations. These flow into the important work of the children's hospice, which offers support and relief for the affected families. The hospice's motto is: “We can't give more days to life, but we can give more life to days” - a statement that underlines the valuable work of the team.
The Sternenbrücke children's hospice offers comprehensive support for terminally ill children and young people up to the age of 27. The facility enables a dignified path to death and offers respite care, stabilization of the family system and grief support for relatives.
As part of the supporting program, participants and visitors have the opportunity to secure functional shirts and tank tops in bright colors, with part of the proceeds also being donated to the hospice. The shirts cost 15 euros, with 2 euros going directly to supporting the children's hospice.
