Creative pottery for cancer patients: Free workshop in Flensburg!
A creative outlet for cancer patients – that’s what the new pottery workshop in Flensburg offers. On Thursday, March 12th, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m., the Clay Station at Schiffbrückstraße 2 will open its doors to everyone who wants to experience the creative process at its core. Here, participants can let their creativity run wild under the guidance of Gudrun Schaller, an experienced master potter and art therapist. The workshop highlights the importance of connecting with the materials, using the sphere as a starting point for individual shapes.
The special thing about this workshop is the relaxed approach: the focus is not on the pressure to perform, but on the creative experience. Whether it's shaping, decorating or just sharing ideas - everyone who takes part should feel comfortable and be given the opportunity to creatively express their feelings and thoughts. All necessary materials and tools are available so that participants can concentrate fully on the creative process. For your comfort, it is also recommended to bring an apron, thin rubber gloves and hand cream.
Delicious additional offers
The pottery workshop is just one of many offers that the Schleswig-Holstein Cancer Society e.V. is offering as part of a new course program for cancer patients and their relatives. The program, available since August, offers a variety of creative, moving and relaxing activities. In addition to the creative courses such as painting and writing in various cities such as Brunsbüttel, Eckernförde, Kiel and Lübeck, there are also offers such as memory training, yoga and fatigue courses - both in person and online.
Another highlight is the “Singing” event in Flensburg, which offers emotional support and helps to relieve stress. Information evenings in Kiel on topics such as resilience and prevention are also very well received and offer exchange opportunities for participants. All of these offers are free of charge and not only promote creative work, but also social interaction.
Register now
The works of art created during the workshop can be picked up after about two to three weeks after drying and firing. Interested cancer patients can register online at www.krebsgesellschaft-sh.de/termine register. This makes pottery not only an individual creative process, but also a valuable opportunity to exchange ideas with others and learn together.
With these initiatives, the Schleswig-Holstein Cancer Society e.V. has created a great offer that can bring back a bit of joy in life to those affected in difficult times. Whether it's pottery, singing or the regular information evenings - there's something for everyone here.
