Family day at VfL Lübeck-Schwartau: fun for young and old!

Next Sunday, November 9th, 2025, there will be a very special event in the Lübeck sports calendar: the VfL Lübeck-Schwartau family day. From 1 p.m. the Hansehalle opens its doors to handball fans big and small. The event, presented by Sparkasse Holstein, promises not only exciting games, but also a colorful supporting program that has something in store for everyone.

The men's B youth game against TSV Kronshagen starts at 1 p.m. Entry to this game is free, provided you have a VfL season ticket. After the youth game, the hall will be cleared briefly so that everything can be prepared for the highlight of the day: at 5 p.m. the VfL first team will fight against the Eulen Ludwigshafen.

A colorful program for the whole family

The organizers have come up with a lot of ideas to make the family day an experience for the whole family. Among other things, magicians and balloon artists will be guests in the hall's foyer, while the mascot Toby Tiger will distribute free ice cream for the children. Face painting is also offered, which is sure to delight the little guests. In addition to the sporting events, visitors can look forward to a competition based on the Sparkasse vault.

Thanks to special ticket conditions, entry for families is also particularly affordable. There are various packages, such as the price advantage for parents and children, which can be worthwhile:

  • 1 Erwachsener + 1 Kind für 31 €
  • 2 Erwachsene + 1 Kind für 55 €
  • 2 Erwachsene + 2 Kinder für 62 €
  • 2 Erwachsene + 3 Kinder für 62 €

Tickets are available both in the VfL online shop and at the box office. For children up to 17 years of age, entry is only 5 euros, and children with an account at Sparkasse Holstein even have free entry.

Sporting challenges and social responsibility

From a sporting point of view, VfL Lübeck-Schwartau is challenged because their opponent, the Eulen Ludwigshafen, will certainly give everything to get points. The Owls have had their fair share of ups and downs so far this season, but the statistics show that they are capable of scoring plenty of goals. VfL, on the other hand, urgently needs a positive momentum in order not to lose touch in the league's relegation battle. Coach David Röhrig has clear ideas about how his team should defend: “We have to play aggressively and compactly,” said the coach.

In addition, VfL Lübeck-Schwartau also shows responsibility beyond the pitch. For every seven meter saved and scored there is a donation of 100 euros from Sparkasse Holstein, while 50 euros are donated each for the goals by Paul Holzhacker and Janik Schrader. This not only promotes handball, but also the club's social commitment.

With an excellent supporting program and a clear goal on the field, VfL Lübeck-Schwartau warmly invites all handball enthusiasts and families to an exciting afternoon in the Hansehalle.
