36 van in Berlin on flames - police investigate arson attack!
In the night of June 17, 2025, an alleged arson attack in Berlin caused excitement. In the districts of Britz and Lichtenberg, several dozen vehicles were on fire. A total of 36 vans were affected when a first emergency call was made shortly before three o'clock. As the Berlin police, which now reports the investigation, is still unclear whether the fires are related and what backgrounds are behind these incidents.
In Lichtenberg, around 17 vans of a telecommunications company were affected, while around 19 vehicles of a parcel supplier burn in Britz. The fire brigade was on site with a large contingent of around 100 emergency services and was able to quickly control the flames. Fortunately, nobody was injured, but the incident leaves concerned citizens: inside and many questions.
recently, on January 25, 2023, there was already a similar incident when a fire broke out in a refugee accommodation in Pankow, which tragically led to the death of a 43-year-old Syrian woman. According to the police, this woman, who leaves six children, died of the fire eight days later. The State Criminal Police Office is currently investigating an arson with a sequence of death, although there is currently no evidence of political motivations. Nevertheless, left -wing groups are suspected of a right -wing extremist background of this incident, which will be recognized on Monday with a memorial event.
arson in Berlin: a less gratifying balance
The repeated arson attacks are anything but individual cases. According to reports, the number of investigations on arson at cars in Berlin in 2024 has reached a maximum. 422 procedures were registered by mid -December, a worrying increase compared to previous years. Many of these acts seem to be performed without political motives, but in 22 cases left -wing extremists have been identified as possible perpetrators. Three out of four investigations concern other motifs such as vandalism or insurance fraud.
The accumulation of cases makes it clear that there is a serious problem with arson in Berlin. In 2022, for example, around 570 vehicles burned, while in 2021 more than 700 cars burned. These alarming numbers indicate that the perpetrators often light several vehicles at the same time, which makes the situation even more complicated.
The police are in a constant fight against the flames and the causes that need new cheering. It remains to be seen whether there is a connection between the current incidents and the previous arson attacks. It seems as if the investigation in Berlin has to be continued intensively in the next few days and weeks in order to bring light into the darkness of these fire -threatening matters.
The citizens: inside of Berlin are concerned. Every new arson attack raises questions and leaves a feeling of uncertainty. And so it remains to be seen how the situation develops and whether the police are able to hold the perpetrators responsible. The hope of a safe coexistence is increasingly put to the test.
