Bremen runs 10: 630 participants celebrate records at the final event!

Bremen, Deutschland - Last weekend the final event of "Bremen runs 10!" at the Marcus fountain in the beautiful Bremen Bürgerpark. With a record number of 630 participants, the event, which was initiated by the Bremen heart Foundation in cooperation with the Bremen Athletics Association (BLV), celebrated its largest edition so far. Supported by the German Society for Cardiology (DGK), the project has been pursuing the goal since 2018 to introduce people to physical exercise and to promote long -term sporting activities.

Over ten weeks, the participants had trained in 31 groups under the expert eye of qualified trainers. This preparation paid off: the final event included a distance of 10 kilometers, divided into a pleasant 2.5 kilometer rounds. The highlight: everyone could run or walk at their own pace without the pressure of a time measurement. So the event was not just a challenge, but above all a pleasure in which each participant could enjoy the sense of achievement. Gummet bands as a reward after each round motivated and ensured radiant faces.

positive experiences of participants

The emotional bond that the participants have built up for this event is remarkable. Anne Meyer, one of the participants, shared her positive experiences: "It was great to see how many people are here who all want to take a step towards health." The story of Birgit Euler was particularly touching, which, according to health problems, could not take part in such events. She finally felt fit enough to be active and experience the community during training.

Doris von Wulfen, press spokeswoman of the foundation, expressed the desire to expand the project to other urban areas, such as Gröpelingen, in order to inspire people there for movement too. The need for such offers is enormous and is also underlined by developments in health promotion.

movement as a society as a whole

As part of the current discussion about movement funding, the Federal Ministry of Health held a follow -up event for the round table movement and health at the end of March 2025. Participants involved, including those from the federal government, the federal states and municipal umbrella organizations, have agreed to participate. Results show that the measures to promote movement must be improved, including framework conditions, target groups and the visibility of the topic.

All the more important are local events such as "Bremen runs 10!", Which actively make a contribution to health promotion and at the same time strengthen the sense of community. Interested parties can find more information about this great project on the website of the Bremer Heart Foundation at bremer-herzen.de .

The organizers have shown great commitment and want to continue to ensure more movement among the population - this is more important than ever today. Because as the saying goes: "Anyone who moves stays healthy!"
