Bremerhaven opens two new school centers for the start of classes!
A lot is happening in school construction in Bremerhaven! On the occasion of the upcoming school year, two new school buildings were officially handed over today. Around 1,750 children will be accommodated there in the future, at a location that has recently come into greater focus. The city, together with the school authority, has committed itself to these modern new buildings, which are now financed through Stäwog and can be rented for at least 30 years. Loud buten and within The Hamburger Straße school center and the New Lehe High School were put into operation.
Why so much excitement? The constantly increasing need for school places and the need for renovation in existing buildings made new schools unavoidable. In total, the city is investing around 190 million euros for three schools, and all of this is intended to take into account the changed school concept, which offers more space for individual learning. An ideal concept that is being pushed forward in Bremerhaven with the new school building, reports Stäwog.
Modern school concepts in focus
The new Lehe primary school will be completed as another construction project after the autumn holidays. The schools are not only an eye-catcher architecturally, but also an answer to the challenges of modern pedagogy. The focus here is on cluster schools that enable students to learn flexibly.
With an eye on ecological and economic sustainability, the development of educational institutions in Bremerhaven is being pushed forward, as the Bremerhaven Society for Investment Promotion and Urban Development states. When selecting the designs, the best design concepts were selected carefully and with great sensitivity. The New Lehe Primary School will receive the “Triangle” design, while the New Lehe High School will use the creatively designed “Werkstadt” and the Hamburger Straße school center will use “3 Höfe”.
Construction work on these three flagship projects is scheduled to begin in 2023, with the IPA process (integrated project management with multi-party contracts) being the first building construction project of this type in Germany. The involvement of students and teachers in the planning process is particularly important here. The Stäwog apartments are not only found in the area of urban development, but also in educational development, she says UNTIL Bremerhaven.
The entire project is carried out by a strong team consisting of architects, specialist planners and construction companies who use several innovative methods to ensure cost and deadline security. It will be interesting to see how these projects develop in the coming school years and what impulses they will give to the educational landscape in Bremerhaven.
