Lions star Glover enthusiastic about Frankfurt's ice hockey atmosphere!

Ty Glover, the Canadian striker for Löwen Frankfurt, highlighted the extraordinary atmosphere in the ice rink on Ratsweg in a recent interview. He describes the support from fans as “incredible.” This enthusiasm is also important for the upcoming games, and so the team is looking forward to the home game against the Fischtown Pinguins Bremerhaven, which will take place on Friday evening at 7:30 p.m. The Penguins are considered one of the most stable teams in the DEL and therefore represent a big challenge for the Lions.

Glover, who didn't know much about the Lions or the DEL before signing, has now settled in well. “We prepare for the games in detail, watch videos before every game and training,” he reports. The striker has scored three goals in the last ten games and is determined to implement his own style of play to ensure the team's success. Squad planning also contributes to confidence: Jakob Lilja could make his debut after a viral illness, while Kevin Bicker has recovered but may play for cooperation partner Bad Nauheim. Long-term injured Carter Proft continues to be a concern and will be out longer with a shoulder injury.

Emotional connection and innovative event design

The German Ice Hockey League (DEL) has developed into one of the most exciting leagues in Europe in recent years. The marketing strategies are clearly defined and rely on emotional fan loyalty, innovative event design and a strong digital presence. Particular attention is paid to the regional identity of the clubs, which binds fans more closely to their teams. Activities such as meet-and-greets and interactive fan zones are key elements in improving the fan experience.

Ice hockey games are designed as events that go far beyond sport. Light shows, music and original animations create an immersive atmosphere that captivates viewers. The playoffs are also staged as win-or-go-home moments, which further increases the tension. This shows how important the DEL has become in terms of comprehensive fan loyalty, which ultimately contributes to the long-term popularity of the sport.

Digital presence and promotion of young talent

In a world that is becoming increasingly digital, the DEL relies on modern technologies to appeal to its fans. Platforms such as Instagram, Twitter and TikTok are used to distribute highlight clips and fan campaigns. Streaming and our own apps with statistics and live tickers bring the games directly to the fans, no matter where they are. Sponsors and strong partnerships are used specifically to strengthen the clubs' brands and at the same time promote sustainable concepts.

A crucial factor for the future of ice hockey is the promotion of young talent. The DEL works with schools and clubs to arouse enthusiasm for the sport and integrate talent into the game. This ensures that ice hockey not only remains a traditional sport, but also keeps pace with modern requirements and appeals to a wide audience.

The Lions Frankfurt are not only looking forward to the upcoming game, but also to a promising future, both in sport and in marketing. The combination of passionate fans and innovative ideas could bring the DEL even further forward in the next few years.
