A real hit is coming: the popular musical “Hello, Dolly!” returns to the Bremen Theater! The starting shot will be given on Friday, September 19, 2025, at 7 p.m. The fascinating Gayle Tufts stars as Dolly Levi, who knows how to bring people together and find her own happiness. This musical comedy, created by the legendary Jerry Herman, has earned an excellent reputation both on Broadway and in numerous film adaptations since its beginnings in the 1960s.
The production at the Theater Bremen promises to bring the 1964 Broadway musical to the stage with a fresh dose of fun and self-irony. Under the experienced musical direction of William Kelley, the direction of Frank Hilbrich and the choreography of Dominik Büttner will ensure a thrilling experience. This combination of talented minds brings a breath of fresh air to the tried and tested plot, based on the comedy “The Matchmaker” by Thornton Wilder and in a German translation by Robert Gilbert.

Jerry Herman, the master behind Hello, Dolly!, was born on July 10, 1931 and has created numerous unforgettable musicals throughout his career. This also includes classics like “Mame” and “La Cage aux Folles”. His work has had a lasting impact on the world of theater, and his influence is still clearly felt today. Herman passed away on December 26, 2019, but left a lasting impression on the music world.
