Here we go again: the autumn holidays are just around the corner and are attracting numerous holidaymakers to the beautiful regions of Lower Saxony. Nature has a lot to offer with its bright colors - be it hiking, cycling or simply taking a leisurely stroll through the city. How star reported, the autumn holidays begin on Thursday, September 30, 2024, and the hosts are optimistic, even if the booking situation is partly mixed.
The North Sea coast is particularly popular. Despite small gaps in the booking calendars, there are still available accommodations there. Occupancy is between 50 and 80 percent, and around two thirds of the companies are satisfied with the booking situation. Nevertheless, some would have hoped for stronger demand. A trend that should not be underestimated remains that of short-term bookings, which depend heavily on the weather.
Harz and Lüneburg Heath
In the Harz the situation looks different. Some places are very well booked, while others have slow demand. Hosts are anticipating a wave of last-minute bookings and an influx of guests when the holidays finally begin. This “wait and see” could prove to be a golden autumn for the region, there NDR known. An exciting detail: More and more guests are spontaneously deciding to travel, depending on the weather. According to NDR, many cyclists, especially with e-bikes, are out and about in October. And don’t forget – farm holidays are still very popular.
Holidaymakers are advised to contact the tourist information offices in advance and book their accommodation in good time. This way you can plan an unforgettable stay in one of the most beautiful regions in Northern Germany. Because no matter whether in the Harz Mountains, on the coast or in the heath – the holidays promise a lot of relaxation and fun for young and old!
