Training start for Werder Bremen: All summer preparation dates!
The new season is just around the corner and Werder Bremen is preparing intensively for the challenges of the upcoming Bundesliga season. Training will begin on July 7th at 3 p.m. under the new coach Horst Steffen, who was previously active in Elversberg. This comes more than seven weeks after the last Bundesliga matchday, on which Bremen narrowly missed qualifying for European competition. A successful new beginning with lots of tests and a training camp is on the agenda. In the first days of preparation, on July 5th and 6th, performance diagnostic tests will also be on the agenda to check the fitness of the players.
This will be an important part of the summer preparation Training camp in the Zillertal which will take place from July 22nd to 31st. The club uses this opportunity not only for intensive training, but also to bond the team together. In the picturesque Zillertal, the team will be accommodated in the “ZillerSeasons DasPosthotel” and will train on the SK Zell am Ziller pitches.
Test matches: competition and initial form check
In order to check form and prepare for the upcoming competitive games, several test games are planned. Fans can look forward to the following matches:
- 12. Juli um 15:30 Uhr gegen FC Verden 04 im Stadion am Berliner Ring, Verden.
- 19. Juli um 15:30 Uhr gegen Kickers Emden im Ostfriesland-Stadion, Emden.
- 9. August um 15:30 Uhr gegen Udinese Calcio im Weser-Stadion (Tach der Fans).
Two further test matches are scheduled during the training camp in Zillertal, although the opponents are not yet known.
Events for fans in the Zillertal
There are special fan packages in the Zillertal for loyal Werder Bremen supporters. These include free entry to the test games in the Parkstadion, a “welcome drink”, a fan talk with the players, a fan hike including a ride up and down the hill and a game of mini golf. Cost: €68.00 for adults and €53.00 for children between 7 and 15 years (without Brettljause). The offer can be booked directly at the office of the Zell am Ziller Tourism Association, although it is not necessary to book tickets separately for the test matches. A bit of sportswear certainly doesn't hurt!
The preparation then culminates in the first competitive games: On August 15th at 8:45 p.m. Werder will face Arminia Bielefeld in the DFB Cup, followed by the Bundesliga opener against Eintracht Frankfurt on August 23rd or 24th. The team is therefore required to get into shape as quickly as possible!
With a clear plan and a coach who wants to bring a breath of fresh air into the team, the 2025 season could be an exciting adventure for Werder Bremen. Let's be surprised to see how the team develops!
