Under clear blue skies and a pleasant 23 degrees, a family jumped from a burning pleasure boat into the water to reach safety. Two adults and a child were on the boat when an engine fire broke out due to a technical defect and quickly got out of control. Fortunately, the family was rescued in time by the crew of a passing pleasure boat before the fire department arrived, as Welt reported.
The fire department responded to the emergency with a large contingent. The emergency services included three police boats, a fire boat and a rescue helicopter.
