The Schanzenzelt starts the last cultural season: A summer full of highlights!

Next summer the Schanzenzelt will open its doors for the last time. From June 20th to July 13th, 2025, culture enthusiasts can look forward to a varied program. The final season of one of Hamburg's most famous cultural events offers a variety of events, including concerts, readings, acrobatics and even a children's circus. With this last edition, the Schanzenzelt says goodbye to the Hamburg cultural scene after a proud 33 years. Loud Eimsbüttel News The final season starts on June 21st with a performance by the circus school “Die Rotznasen”, which will present its program at 5:30 p.m.

The organizers have put together a comprehensive line-up for this summer. From the live concert to the reading, both young and old culture lovers get their money's worth here. Aside from the opening event on June 21st, artists such as Sarah Lesch & Band, Pohlmann’s Nachtschicht and Romano will be performing in the tent. The Hamburg.de confirmed that the program highlights also include an improvised theater piece called “Hidden Shakespeare” on June 29th, as well as a solo concert by Yung FSK18 on July 4th, the proceeds of which will go to civilian sea rescue in the Mediterranean.

Cultural diversity in the Schanzenpark

The Schanzenpark itself, which was known in the past as the largest water tower in Europe, is being transformed into an open space for culture and community. In addition to the events in the tent, meadows, boules and children's playgrounds as well as an open-air cinema invite you to linger. It is a place where young and old can come together and enjoy the last days of the Schanzenzelt together. For the little visitors there is a special children's program in the circus tent, which is sure to make faces smile.

At a time when high costs are threatening many cultural institutions, the closure of the Schanzenzelt after the last season is also being discussed. The ticket price varies depending on the event and is set at 30 euros for the solo concert on July 4th. For particularly committed visitors, there will also be solidarity tickets for 10 euros or a 20 euro donation. This additional income is intended for an important social cause and shows how closely culture and social commitment are intertwined.

The highlight of last season

The entire Schanzenzelt program is presented on the organizers' website so that those interested can easily view all the details and dates. Other highlights in addition to the solo concert and the reading by Sarah Lorenz on July 1st are the performance by Markus Wiebusch on July 8th and the conclusion of the season with the final curtain on July 11th, accompanied by the reading by Max Richard Leßmann.
