Schlager alarm in Hamburg: Warm-Up Party starts today in St. Pauli!
What a colorful spectacle awaits us! Tomorrow, Saturday, July 5th, 2025, the Schlagermove will take place in Hamburg-St. Pauli will once again captivate hundreds of thousands. Today, July 4th, the warm-up party is already underway on the Heiligengeistfeld, where fans are getting in the mood for the biggest pop parade in the world. The event attracts a huge crowd - over 400,000 visitors are expected to take to the streets in cheerful 70s outfits. According to NDR, the main event begins on Saturday at 3 p.m. with an impressive caravan of around 50 trucks that will move from Heiligengeistfeld across St. Pauli's most famous squares.
The route leads over Millerntorplatz, the Landungsbrücken and the Reeperbahn back to Heiligengeistfeld. The plan is for the last car to arrive at the home base around 8:30 p.m. The trucks will be set up from 1 p.m. so that the anticipation can be felt early on. Musically, some key artists will also be present, including DJ Vossi and a Wolfgang Petry double, to heat up the party atmosphere.
Safety precautions and road traffic
Of course, such an event also brings challenges. All the hustle and bustle means that numerous streets in Hamburg are closed. From Saturday morning, drivers will have to prepare for the closures in the city center, which will remain in place until late in the evening. The Glacischaussee in particular remains closed to traffic from Friday evening to Sunday morning. According to hamburg.t-online.de, various streets such as the Reeperbahn, Helgoländer Allee and numerous other arterial roads are affected.
Residents have the opportunity to leave their districts via Hamburger Hochstrasse or Seewartenstrasse. For everyone else, it is recommended to use public transport, as the A7 between Hamburg-Stellingen and Hamburg-Heimfeld will also be completely closed this weekend. Even the Elbe Tunnel is included in these measures. Road users should therefore plan well to avoid the chaos.
Celebrations and medical service
If you haven't had enough after the big parade, you can continue celebrating in two party tents - tickets are also required here. To ensure the safety of all guests, around 300 paramedics are on duty, while around 500 toilet units are available along the route. We urge you to also use the public toilet facilities in order to ease the situation.
The hit move is more than just a parade; it is a tradition that immerses the city in the colorful framework of a festival. When the music starts tomorrow and the caravan moves across Hamburg, the St. Pauli district will once again become the center of the celebrations. Let's not forget that Ed Sheeran will be on stage at the Volksparkstadion at the same time, which rounds off the weekend perfectly. Whether in the stadium or on the street - there is certainly something for everyone here, and the heart of the city pulsates with the rhythm of the hit.
The event is just around the corner and the anticipation is building. So, let's bring the good mood with us and get ready for this grandiose celebration on Saturday!
