Brinkmann's return: Hansa Rostock relies on new intensity!
The 2025/26 season is just around the corner for FC Hansa Rostock and coach Daniel Brinkmann has already made some clear announcements in preparation. So the coach is back in Rostock and during the summer break he found inspiration not only from his own team, but also from other clubs, including FC St. Pauli and Brighton. He would now like to incorporate these experiences into his training methods in order to be as fit and powerful as possible for the new challenges of the 3rd league. Brinkmann plans to focus on the physical aspects at the start of preparation, with a focus on performance diagnostics and endurance training to get the team ideally fit when the season begins in early August.
But that's not all. Tactical priorities are also set: opening the game, building up the game, playing in the final third and remaining defense are on the training plan. Another highlight will be a test match against the renowned club Aston Villa, which will certainly be a big challenge for the Rostock team. Brinkmann is also looking for an opponent for a tough test on July 26th, ideally at third division level or better.
There is pressure on the new arrivals
A lot has happened at FC Hansa this season. Eight new signings have been signed in the recent past, including Andreas Voglsammer from Hannover, Paul Stock from Elversberg and Florian Carstens from Wehen Wiesbaden. These new faces presented themselves in the first training session with 27 players, including a new physio boss, and showed their qualities, particularly in the late game formats. Brinkmann is satisfied with the breadth of the squad - it is particularly important to him that all new players are integrated into the team immediately.
However, not all departures were accompanied by joy. While Jannis Lang is moving to Babelsberg and Albin Berisha is going to the U23, the situation surrounding Antonio Jonjic and Milosz Brzozowski is regrettable. Jonjic has been cleared to move and is now actively looking for a new club, while Brzozowski will be out for several months due to a torn cruciate ligament.
The goal is to have a stable squad structure
Hansa is currently planning to have 28 players in the squad, although small changes are still possible due to the transfer window, which closes on September 1st. Brinkmann no longer expects any major changes, but wants to ensure that his team performs better than in the last round, in which FC Hansa ended the season with a 5th place. A clear motivation for the team, which can now concentrate on the challenges ahead during the preparation period.
With a little patience and the right instinct, FC Hansa Rostock could deliver a few positive surprises in the new season and inspire the fans again. Based on the preparations so far, the entire team appears highly motivated and ready to take the next steps.
