FC St. Pauli clubhouse finally open again after renovation!
Finally the time has come! After intensive eight weeks of renovation work, the FC St. Pauli clubhouse will open its doors again on Thursday, August 14, 2025. The renovation was necessary in order to integrate the club's reception more efficiently into the clubhouse. This is intended to achieve a better use of space that meets the needs of fans and members. The redesign ensures that the clubhouse is open to everyone from Tuesday to Saturday.
The new opening times are Tuesday to Friday between 5 p.m. and 11 p.m. and on Saturday from 1 p.m. unless there is a game taking place. Particular attention is also paid to live broadcasts of professional games and other important sporting events, particularly in football. Information about possible opening hours on Sundays without a game taking place will be communicated via the club's social media channels. While the kitchen in the clubhouse is currently under renovation and cannot be used for the first few days, there will be a soft opening celebration on Friday, August 15th to test the functionality of the newly designed space.
Background to closure and revival
However, the path to the reopening was anything but straight. The clubhouse has been closed since the end of June 2024 after catering operations had to be stopped due to economic losses. Despite a high-quality offering, the lease operation could not be maintained without constant deficits. During the closure, the clubhouse was only open to fans on the day of the match against Bergamo. During this time, a dedicated group within the amateur board sought a solution to revitalize the clubhouse to create a reliable point of contact for amateur sports departments, fans and members.
The developed concept received positive feedback from the executive board of FC St. Pauli and envisages running the clubhouse entirely on a voluntary basis in the first start-up phase, which is scheduled to begin at the beginning of September 2024. Supported by volunteers, the collective also plans to organize events for the district and the fan scene. A call for support is expected to follow to give further momentum to the revival.
The future of the clubhouse
The commitment of the volunteers, including Dirk Matzke, Jan Gabius and many others, shows how rooted the club and the clubhouse are in the community. The start-up phase is used to check the implementation of the ideas and to get to know the needs of the athletes and fans better. Considering how closely the clubhouse is linked to FC St. Pauli's identity, there is no doubt that a good hand is being demonstrated here to make the space a vibrant center of club life.
In the coming weeks, the reception at the FC St. Pauli office will also be relocated. The exact time for this has not yet been determined, but it will bring further positive development for the club and its surroundings.
The anticipation is great, and with the new offers in the clubhouse as well as the live broadcasts of games, things will continue to be high. The return of the clubhouse in its new form is a step in the right direction to bring FC St. Pauli even closer to its fans. FC St Pauli reports that there will be many surprises in the coming days and fans should prepare themselves for an exciting time.
