FC St. Pauli: A mood of optimism for the new season with test games and changeover fever!
Things will be exciting again at Millerntor this year, right at the start of the new first division season. FC St. Pauli is currently preparing and has some interesting developments to report. The club is pleased that Olympique Lyon can also take part in training after successfully averting forced relegation. Karol Mets is active in running training, while Andréas Hountondji now has a new player profile, which, however, is not well received by everyone. More critical assessments of Hountondji come from Liège, possibly due to a less successful last season.
The Bundesliga match days 1 to 5 will be scheduled in calendar week 28, i.e. between July 7th and 11th. Before that, however, there are some exciting test games coming up. The audience can expect an exciting clash against SV Drochtersen/Assel on July 12th, for which tickets are already available in the “home curve” in Block B. The team also have another friendly match scheduled in Coventry, for which tickets are available in the visitors' block. The weekend promises to be a good opportunity to observe the new developments in the team.
Transfer news and preparations
There was also exciting news about Igor Matanović, who is now moving to SC Freiburg. FC St. Pauli's U23s have already played three test matches: a 4-0 win against HEBC and two narrow 2-1 defeats, which present the team with new challenges.
An important initiative that will carry over into the next season is “Betting for Water”. To take part, a donation of at least ten euros is required. At the same time, the “St. Pauli for All” campaign invites you to a get-together in Park Fiction on July 13th. A small but nice occasion to promote community and exchange among supporters.
The big preparations of the league
Preparations are in full swing throughout the Bundesliga. The 2025/26 season is already in the starting blocks and many teams are already in the middle of training. For example, FC Bayern Munich started their preparations on June 5th, while Borussia Dortmund is in training camp in Austria from August 4th. A detailed overview of the clubs' summer plans is also shown Ran.
How the coming season will develop remains to be seen, but one thing is certain: FC St. Pauli is ready to give everything and is looking forward to the support of its loyal fans. With the mix of new talent and proven forces, there should be a lot possible this season.
