Cheese meets wine: gourmet festival in the Kiel boat harbor from July 11th to 13th!
From July 11th to 13th, 2025, the Kiel boat harbor will be a showcase for all gourmets when the gourmet event “Cheese Meets Wine” opens its doors. The organizer is KielMarketing in cooperation with the Schleswig-Holstein Chamber of Agriculture, which is celebrating its 60th anniversary this year. The program is complemented by KäseStraße and GUTES VOM HOF.SH, which together create an impressive line-up of cheese dairies and wineries.
Visitors can look forward to a diverse selection of cheese specialties, including those made from sheep's, cow's and goat's milk. Many of the cheese dairies have been awarded the “Tested Quality Schleswig-Holstein” quality mark, which stands for real regional enjoyment. The culinary experience is rounded off by exquisite wines from southern and northern Germany - rosé, white and red wines are available. The combination of cheese and wine-friendly delights is accompanied by daily live music, which wraps the event in a festive atmosphere. The regional players are not left out either: ice cream specialties from the Trollebüller ice cream shop, sausage and meat specialties from Hof Steffen and organic baked goods from the wood-fired bakery are on offer.
A highlight for culture lovers
There is a special cultural highlight on Saturday, July 12th: “Best of Poetry Slam” offers an appealing program with performances by Selina Seemann, Jann Wattjes and Björn Högsdal. The event is not only a pleasure trip, but also a platform for creative art.
The cheese and wine tastings are led by experienced cheese sommeliers such as Markus Bornholdt and Petra Schweim. For the one-off price of 35 euros per person, guests can immerse themselves in the world of flavors. Visitors can also look forward to a festival day on Dänische Straße on Saturday, July 12th from 12:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. – another highlight that invites you to explore the regional delicacies.
Sustainability is very important
A big plus point of the event is the attention to environmental protection. All food is served on reusable plates with a deposit system, so that the environment is protected. Another step in the right direction for all sustainability fanatics.
To round off the whole experience, the live music program provides the perfect musical accompaniment on every day of the event. On Friday, July 11, The Twist Brothers play from 7:00 p.m. to 9:30 p.m., followed by The Comiedmen on Saturday at the same time. The band Klaroscuro will conclude the event on Sunday, July 13th, from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Visitors can look forward to three days full of enjoyment, culture and a good mood.
