Body in the fairway: diver attracts attention from the police!

On Tuesday evening, June 17th, passers-by discovered a lifeless person in the water of the Elbe between Stade and Haselau. The first emergency call was received at 6:15 p.m. when the body was spotted in the fairway. The fire brigade and police from three federal states – Schleswig-Holstein, Lower Saxony and Hamburg – were quickly alerted. Moin reports that the emergency services were able to remove the body, which was dressed in a diving suit, from the river.

About an hour after the discovery, the dead man was transported to the Pinnau barrage in a police boat. The police have not yet provided any further information about the circumstances of his death or the identity of the deceased. The criminal police have now taken over the investigation and will examine the case in detail.
