Clear the stage! Artists from MV can shine at Wasted in Jarmen

The anticipation is increasing in the small town of Jarmen, because on September 5th and 6th, 2025 the popular festival “Wasted in Jarmen” will open its doors for the seventh time. The band “Feinecreme Fischfilet”, which reached the top of the German album charts at the beginning of June with their album “We Come in Peace”, will also be there. But the festival not only offers space for big names, but also for lesser-known artists who want to get a chance on a stage. Nordkurier reports that a free place in the program is reserved for local talent from Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania. Music genres and age groups don't matter - the main thing is that the talent is right.

Interested musicians can easily send their applications by email to “[email protected]”. In addition to a few sentences about yourself, a link to an audio sample or a video is required. This ensures that only the best talent gets the chance to be on the main stage and wow the audience.

A stage for diversity

The idea behind “Wasted in Jarmen” is to offer artists from the region a platform and celebrate cultural diversity. The festival is organized by the Hinterlandkultur e.V. association, which has its headquarters at Doberaner Str. 21, 18057 Rostock. How on wastedinjarmen.de can be read, the association takes responsibility for its own content, but also emphasizes that external links to other sites have no influence on their content.

The festival not only stands for musical diversity, but also contributes to promoting the regional cultural scene. This cultural initiative is receiving support from the federal government, which supports festivals in the areas of popular music and jazz with the Music Initiative's festival funding fund. A total of four million euros will be made available to strengthen cultural diversity and artistic work in Germany. The Minister of State for Culture emphasizes that festivals outside of large cities in particular are promoted in order to make a wider range of artists and genres visible. Attention is paid to sustainability, diversity and accessibility.

A total of 127 festivals from Germany received funding, which underlines the importance of events like “Wasted in Jarmen”. These festivals not only offer a platform for music, but also for political education and social issues. With this support, “Wasted in Jarmen” not only wants to inspire the audience, but also make a contribution to the cultural landscape in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and pave the way for talented artists.

For all creatives who would like to be on stage, it is now important to act quickly and take advantage of the opportunity. September is approaching and the application period is limited. Who knows, perhaps an up-and-coming artist will soon be the special highlight of the festival and captivate the audience with their sounds.
