DRK in Anklam: Monthly first aid courses start in September!

On September 10, 2025, Anklam, the small town in the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, will be all about first aid. The DRK district association East Western Pomerania-Greifswald e.V. has reintroduced its monthly first aid courses to better prepare the population for emergencies. The new courses are aimed not only at private individuals, but also at companies, clubs and driving students.

A word of advice from René Kraski, a dedicated first aid employee and experienced trainer, makes it clear how important this knowledge is in an emergency. The first course starts on September 27th at the DRK office, and registration for it is now possible online. “We have been training in first aid for many years and always have a good knack for refreshing knowledge,” says Kraski.

Flexible course offerings for everyone

The first aid courses are available in various formats that can be designed flexibly depending on your needs. Among the offers are the classic Red Cross courses, which are adapted to different target groups:

  • Rotkreuzkurs Erste Hilfe (EH): 1 Tag, 9 Unterrichtseinheiten. Ideal für Führerscheinbewerber und Ersthelfer im Betrieb.
  • Rotkreuzkurs EH (Variante 16UE): 2 Tage, 16 Unterrichtseinheiten.

This information comes from drk.de, and they show how broad the training opportunities are. Additional modules and special courses for seniors or athletes round off the program.

First aid in daycare and company contexts

A particularly interesting aspect is the “First Aid with Self-Protection Content” program, which is offered free of charge to daycare centers and companies. It is intended to help prepare participants for various emergency situations and to develop familiarity with disaster response. Not only is this course educational, but it can also be carried out in a team setting, which strengthens the sense of community.

There is tailored content for different age groups. For example, children aged 3 to 10 learn to recognize emergency situations and react correctly. Adults and young families can deal with topics such as personal emergency preparedness and primary medical care in order to be able to act quickly and competently in an emergency.

At a time when security is becoming increasingly important in our everyday lives, the DRK Erfurt offers an additional course offering that is specifically focused on the needs of companies and clubs.

With this wide range of courses, it is clear that the DRK in Anklam plays an important role in promoting first aid in the district and giving everyone the opportunity to learn crucial skills - because any of us can get into an emergency situation.
