Artists in Loitz: Invitation to dinner and creative encounters!
In Loitz, a small he
In the Vorpommern-Greifswald district, a lot is happening in the art scene. In the coming summer months, the artists Ingke Günther and Jörg Wagner will be active in the city as “artists in residence”. Your goal? He reports that he wanted to have a creative conversation with the people of Loitz and bring their way of life into the focus of their work Northern Courier.
As part of a special art project in July, the two artists would like to actively involve the people of Peenestadt. Unlike many of their colleagues, Günther and Wagner collect used dinner or sandwich boards and use them to intensively engage with regional cuisine cultures. They will not only work in their studios, but also hope to be invited to dinner tables in the region - true to the motto: “We are diners”. At the end of their stay, they invite the people of Loitz to have dinner together in the guest room of Künstler Gut Loitz.
Artistic encounters and invitations
Barbara Camilla Tucholski, chairwoman of the Künstlergut Loitz association, encourages the public to get in touch if they are willing to host the artists. If you are interested, you can contact her directly on 0172 8815307. It is an invitation to creativity and a personal encounter with the artists.
This initiative is part of the larger program "Aller.Land - shaping together. Strengthening structures", which has been implemented in rural regions of Germany since 2023. The aim of this program is to promote culture and democracy in rural areas. Over 97 regions have already taken part in the first phase of the program, with Loitz and the surrounding area playing an important role. Support for creative projects is a step towards further developing the region culturally and strengthening the community, as the website of the Federal Government Commissioner for Culture and Media informed.
Art in public spaces
But it's not just residential art that's active in Loitz. Another creative mind shapes the city: the anonymous street artist Hein Lohe, who has already beautified Loitz with unique murals. Inspired by his passion for street art, Lohe works in the surrounding area and gives the city a fresh touch. Citizens appreciate his artistic work, which can be found on uninhabited houses and garages. Despite his anonymity, he compares himself to Banksy's British fashion style, attracting many admirers. Only one complaint has been filed against him so far NDR reported.
Where one artist actively involves the community, the other brings color and life to the streets, which are made to shine with art. Loitz shows how diverse and dynamic cultural life is in the region.
In summary, it can be said that both visitors to the artists' residence and the residents of Loitz can immerse themselves in this creative exchange. An exciting time for everyone who is interested in new experiences and encounters. Don't miss this chance!
