The cold season has arrived and with it a heavenly sea of lights on the magical treetop path in the Rügen Natural Heritage Center. Visitors can enjoy the illumination under the motto “Forest and Sea” until February 22, 2026. The approximately 1,250 meter long path is not only a feast for the eyes but also for the ears, as it is bathed in a festive glow by over 300,000 LED lights, complemented by numerous characters such as adorable squirrels, which are also bathed in warm light. The installation required a whopping 10 kilometers of cable, which were cleverly laid to hug the entire path as well as the “Adlerhorst” observation tower, like the one Northern Courier reported.
In order to further promote leisure activities in the region, the treetop path offers a child-friendly environment for the whole family. At a height of up to 17 meters, the path is accessible to all ages, including families with strollers and wheelchair users. This makes it an ideal destination for all kinds of excursions, be it for school classes or bus trips.
