New coach Tom Fraus: VFC Anklam goes into the season with fresh wind!
A new wind is blowing at VFC Anklam: 33-year-old Tom Fraus is the new head coach of the national league team and at the same time takes on the role as a player coach. He follows Nils Gütschow and brings fresh vigor into the team that faces exciting challenges. Nordkurier reports that Fraus born from Greifswald and previously for several clubs, including Greifswald and Torgelow-Ueckermünde, was active.
After the SpVgg Torgelow-Ueckermünde from the association league, Fraus had various offers on the table. Ultimately, his choice fell on the VFC Anklam because he appreciated the honest conversations with those responsible and striving for a new beginning. Fraus has the necessary experience: in the regional league he played 34 times for Germania Halberstadt and scored 39 goals in 88 Oberliga games for Askania Bernburg. This shows that he thinks aggressively and also wants to intervene in the event.
The training start
The official start of training took place on Friday evening and the anticipation was great. In addition to intensive training sessions, there are also three test games on the preparatory program:
- 26. July: away game against Pasewalker FV (state class)
- 2. August: Test game in Zinnowitz against Köpenicker SV (Landesliga)
- 9. August: Test game at SV Gützkow
On August 16, the first competitive date in the state cup against Penzliner SV, followed by an away game in the Landesliga Staffel East on August 23 at FSV Malchin, and the first home game on August 30 against SG Empor Richtenberg.
training philosophy and vision
Fraus has clear ideas on how to get the team on course. "As a player coach, I want to take responsibility," he explains. The organization of the game, clear structures and the distribution of tasks are important to him. He relies on a quick switching game, brave appearance and a respectful way of dealing with passion and emotions, such as vfc-anklam.de supplemented.
With personal contacts to current players such as John-Philipp Bruhns and Alexander Schadofske, the introduction to his new position is considerably easier for Fraus. Professionally, he is a teacher, which should also help him to motivate and lead the boys positively.
The preparation phase is under the motto without traditional co -operty tests and long runs to achieve a solid fitness level. Fraus is certain that with his experience and a good hand he can successfully master the challenge in the Landesliga.
