Farewell with emotions: Loitzer teachers start a new path in life!
On October 27, 2025, the Loitzer schools reopened their doors after the autumn break. In a very special atmosphere, two popular teachers said goodbye to their well-deserved retirement, whose farewell was marked by many emotions.
Liane Wippersteg, who worked as deputy head of the primary school for over 25 years, and Frank Fandrich, who ran the Loitz Regional School for over 24 years, reflected on many memories. Saying goodbye was not easy for Wippersteg; She admitted that it is a challenging step for her to adjust to the new phase of her life. In the future, she wants to spend more time doing sports and pursuing hobbies such as reading and singing.
An emotional farewell
Numerous colleagues, the mayor of Loitz and student representatives were present at the farewell. Fandrich, who played a key role in establishing the three-tier school system in the 1990s and took responsibility for redesigning the school campus, looked back with pride on his time as a teacher and principal. As a farewell, he received a beach chair from his team, a sign of recognition and appreciation. The students presented him with a framed picture that was painted by one student and signed by everyone.
“I would like to thank all of my colleagues, parents and students and express my best wishes for the future of the school,” said an touched Fandrich. He is now looking forward to more time with his family and grandchildren and plans to sail along the Peene as a water sports enthusiast - a passion that has accompanied him for many years.
Outlook for the future
Both teachers closed this chapter of their lives with many ideas and plans. Wippersteg and Fandrich have had a strong influence on the Loitz school community through their commitment and dedication; their absence will certainly be felt. Looking ahead, it will be exciting to see how the schools in Loitz develop and what new paths are taken.
The school community is preparing for a breath of fresh air and new approaches, while the memories of the two experienced educators remain alive. The new phase of Liane Wippersteg and Frank Fandrich's life is not just a farewell, but also the beginning of new adventures and challenges.
