High season in Bobbin: Freshly squeezed juice from Rügen fruits!

In Bobbin, a small, picturesque village near Glowe, everything revolves around a delicious juice made from local fruit during harvest time. The cider factory, which is run by the experienced Iris Feistauer, is currently experiencing a lot of activity. For decades it has been a contact point for fruit lovers who want to turn their own fruit into juice. What's special: Here, 1:1 juice is pressed from the customers' fruit, which is unique in the entire region. One of the regular customers is Wolfgang Glinka from Altenkirchen, who has already brought 150 kg of apples for processing twice this year. When it comes to juice, customers save money: freshly squeezed juice costs about half of what the supermarket charges. Janett Peuß and Rainer Krebs, also regular visitors, take the opportunity to have some of their fruit processed into must in Bobbin. Your juice can be stored in the stables of the cider factory and, if stored correctly, will last for a whole year.

Opening times and processing

The cider factory is open Monday to Friday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., but only by appointment. Each customer pays five euros for five liters of freshly squeezed juice from their own fruit. The right harvest time is important: Apples should be harvested when the cores are already brown to guarantee the best juice quality. During the season, which begins on September 1st and lasts until mid to late November, Rainer Telke actively supports Iris Feistauer at the juice press.

The cider factory mainly processes apples, but pears and quinces also find their way into juice production. A particular concern of the operator is to offer customers environmentally friendly disposal of used materials. Here, emphasis is placed on sustainability, which is more important than ever these days.
