On June 28, 2025, the time has come again: The Bundeswehr opens its goals for the "Day of the Bundeswehr" all over Germany. In Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania, the cities of Neubrandenburg and Stralsund have dressed out to offer visitors an exciting insight into the world of the Bundeswehr. Under the motto "We are there", numerous activities and demonstrations are offered that illuminate both military and civilian aspects.
The focus is on the great seed barracks in Neubrandenburg, the main event location of the action day. From 9:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., visitors can not only marvel at Bundeswehr vehicles, but also ride in a tank. A reality of the Panzergrenadierbrigade 41, which is close to battle, ensures rousing action. In addition, there are overflowing of Eurofighers, maritime reconnaissance and transport machines from the Air Force, which ensure an extra tingling sensation in the stomach.a program full of highlights
Already at 10 a.m. the greeting by brigade commander Ralf Peter Hammerstein. After that, attack demonstrations of the Panzergrenadiere are on the program, which take place at 10:30, 2 and 3:30 p.m. At 12 p.m., Federal Defense Minister Boris Pistorius gives a speech in which he invites you to interact with soldiers and civilian employees. The background music is not neglected either: the Army Music Corps Neubrandenburg will appear at 1:30 p.m. on the market square.
For interested visitors who are older than 18 years old, there is the opportunity to experience rides in combat vehicles and on the shooting training simulator. In addition, a variety of weapons are issued from light to heavy weapon systems. The Navy in Stralsund also opens its goals and presents a ceremony of the marine technology school, in which recruits take off their solemn venue. Security is very important: security locks are set up with controls at the entrance, and visitors should do without backpacks and bags.

The idea behind the "Bundeswehr Day" is not only the presentation of military skills, but also to strengthen the relationship between society and the armed forces. The event takes place annually in the third decade of the month of June and, based on interactive tours, live demonstrations and information stands, offers numerous options for participation and dialogue. Already last year the campaign day attracted around 230,000 visitors nationwide, and those responsible hope to spark enthusiasm again this year.
The longstanding contact between Neubrandenburg and the Bundeswehr, which has existed since 2014 and will be renewed in 2024. In addition, the city was awarded the “Bundeswehr and Society” in 2021, which underlines the good relationship with the Bundeswehr. The Panzergrenadierbrigade 41, founded in 1991, has proven itself not only in Germany, but also in international operations and is currently preparing for an assignment at the NATO east border in Lithuania.
